ABOUT TULAKES BAPTIST CHURCH
Tulakes Baptist Church began as a Mission of Putnam City Baptist Church in November, 1951. On April 4, 1954, with 188 members, the mission was organized as a church and the first building was built. Tulakes thrived during the following decades, however, tragedy struck on May 9th, 2003, when a tornado destroyed the sanctuary. The church, trusting in faith and leaning on the verse Philippians 1:6 as their promise from Him, came through the storms and continued to worship and minister in what was left of their building. A new sanctuary was completed in 2007, and a Fellowship Hall remodel was completed in 2019.
